Many people are familiar with the Myers-Briggs personality test… but for those who aren’t, here’s a brief explanation:
Myers-Briggs Personality Test
An assessment developed by a psychiatrist named Carl Jung. He theorizes that all personalities can be broken down into four basic social interaction styles and pairs of preferences for approaching each interaction. The result is 16 distinct personality types.You can take the test by clicking here.
Once you know what personality type you fall under, it becomes MUCH easier to determine the type of intuition or meditative practice which will benefit you most. But first, here’s a short refresher of each of the social interaction styles classified by Carl Jung. Simply click on each type to reveal the description.
The 16 Personality Types
Your best connection comes with practices that are both physically challenging and spiritually balancing. Moving meditations such as Hatha Yoga Sun Salutation is a non-complex movement that will tie in well with your intuition communication style. You’ll find it to be an energizing, transformative, practice that focuses the mind while contributing to body toning and improving circulation.
Ashtanga yoga incorporates body strength with breath work. Poses are easily modifiable if you have strength or flexibility challenges. Because it is so fluid, you will find that it encourages deep focus and expanded awareness.
Hatha Yoga or Pilates would suit you well. Also, your particular personality type gains much from being in a ‘teacher’ role in regards to personal growth through the actual passing of knowledge. Consider learning more about different practices, then teaching others in order to maximize your intuitive connection with that specific practice.
Nature meditation would enhance your capacity to experience and communicate with the world around you. By tapping into natural elements you will encounter and witness principals of life that are both hidden and pervasive in the natural world.
You would benefit fro 3rd eye balancing. Ensuring you get restful sleep is especially important for you to make those intuitive connections. Third eye meditations are what you should be practicing.
Visualization techniques and meditations are going to be the best tool to connect you with your intuition. Relaxation and creative visualization is especially powerful for you when it comes to achieving your goals.
Dance is actually an activity that will awaken your intuitive side. The energy of being around other people in a capacity where you must be controlled without controlling others will heighten your state of awareness and naturally open yourself to the powers of intuition.
Moving meditation in the form of an unstructured walk will unwind your mind and activate your imagination – giving you clear thought and allowing you to organize your direction.
You might benefit best from tapping. Tapping is fun and easy but also has a serious purpose. It opens your meridians, increases circulation, releases muscle tension, improves digestion and elimination of metabolic waste and elevates mood by resetting your neural activity. The best part about tapping for you is how meditative yet energizing at the same time it is.
Kundalini Yoga would be a great practice for you. It focuses on proper alignment, smooth posture transitions and controlled breathing exercises to access the kundalini energy, said to be a serpent coiled at the base of the spine, and awaken it to rise through each chakra.
